Even though burgers generally have poor reputation of being unhealthy or high in calories, but it does not need to be in that way. Add veggies to your ground beef
Here’s one more way to make your burgers healthier: add veggies. Veggies are a great source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that help keep you feeling strong. They also give burgers their flavor and texture. A few simple additions can go a long way toward making your burger more than just meat on a bun.
To get started, start by adding mushrooms, onions, bell peppers and tomatoes to the ground beef before shaping it into patties (use about 1/4 cup of water per pound). Then season with salt and pepper as desired—the amount will depend on how much you choose to add at once; for example if you’re using five pounds of meat then about 2 tablespoons may not be enough!
Make a burger bowl instead of sandwich bun
When you’re making your burger, don’t cut the bread into triangles. Instead, tear off a small piece of bread and use it to make a lettuce leaf.
