Reservations

Prior to making a reservation request you must also read the Terms and Conditions that relate to the rental vehicle. 

Vehicle description, travel restriction, insurance conditions, age restrictions etc. are all subject to the Terms & Conditions of the rental company.

Reservation requests are only accepted by AUSTRALIA TOURING on the condition that the AUSTRALIA TOURING Terms and Conditions, and the Terms and Conditions that apply to the relevant rental vehicle have been read and understood, and that you AGREE TO ACCEPT THEM.

A reservation deposit of about 20% - 50% of the rental fee is required to make a reservation for campervans, RV, motorhomes and 4WDs.  The remaining balance must be paid in full 35 days prior to commencement of the hire.  If a reservation is made 35 days or less prior to commencement of the hire then full payment of the rental cost is required at the time of booking.

A reservation deposit of 10% - 50% of the rental cost is required to make a reservation for cars, vans and mini-buses.  The remaining balance must be paid in full 14 days prior to commencement of the hire.   If a reservation is made 14 days or less prior to commencement of the hire then full payment of the rental cost is required at the time of booking.

The deposit must have been paid by bank transfer or credit card payment before a booking can be confirmed. Due to the flex rate system of the rental companies the rate may change until the reservation has been confirmed.  

All requests for reservations are subject to availability.  Once availability has been established and the reservation confirmed then the DEPOSIT BECOMES NON REFUNDABLE unless differently stated in your offer or confirmation.

When the reservation has been confirmed and the deposit payment processed a Rental Voucher will be posted to you.  Please check that all details are correct.  The voucher becomes valid only when the final balance has been processed. 

Amendments

One amendment per booking is allowed prior to vouchers being issued. Once documentation has been issued and sent to you, an amendment fee of AU$50 will apply, per amendment.

Cancellations

Once payment in full has been made then the cancellation policies of the rental supply company also apply.  These policies are contained within the Terms and Conditions of each individual supply company and are clearly available throughout the AUSTRALIA TOURING web site.  You must read the Terms and Conditions that apply to the rental vehicle you wish to hire prior to making a reservation request.  Any cancellation fees that apply are additional to the forfeiture of the reservation deposit amount.

When calculating the cancellation fees the calculations will be based on the full listed retail rate of the supplying rental company at their website and not on any discounted rates.

A minimum cancellation fee of AU$ 200 applies at any time.

We strongly advise that full travel insurance be obtained.  Unforeseen circumstances that may require you to cancel travel plans can be very costly especially when the cancellation occurs shortly before commencement of a hire.  In most cases this will incur a heavy penalty including total loss of the hire costs paid by you.  Please ensure you have adequate travel insurance cover.

Payments

We prefer payments made directly into our bank account in order to be able to offer you lowest rates. In case of high bank charges please contact us. Sometimes we can arrange a reasonable way of payment.

Credit Card Payments

If you require credit card payment, we charge 3% of the total due amount. This is part of the charges we have to pay to the credit card company. We accept Mastercard, Visacard and American Express. The card processing system in use is based in EUR (Euro). That secures our customers safe credit card payment due to high security standards in the European Union. Conversion rate is the interbank rate published by Westpac Australia.

Once the hire commences

When the rental vehicle has been collected, and the rental agreement contract between the hirer and the rental supply company has been signed, the Terms and Conditions contained within that contract apply in full.

Our Service

Our service is to provide an online facility where an intending traveller can compare the multiple choices that are provided by reputable and well regarded rental companies within Australia.  The traveller can make an assessment of which vehicle best suits their particular requirements and budget.  All vehicle specifications, images, lists of inclusions and terms and conditions are provided by the rental companies and may change at any time without notice.  All vehicle information is presented in a simple and clear format that enables easy comparison.  Images are for illustration purposes only and may vary from the actual vehicle provided.

When a decision is reached a reservation request can be made, or further information sought, by an online Reservation/Enquiry form.  If a reservation request is received we will then collect a deposit or full payment as outlined above and make a reservation for the vehicle selected.  When confirmation of the rental is received by us from the supplier and the deposit/payment processed we will then forward confirmation to the hirer by email, phone or fax.  A voucher will then be issued and posted to the postal or email address supplied by the hirer. This voucher must be presented to the depot upon collection of the vehicle.  The voucher becomes valid only when final payment for the rental has been processed by us.

When the final payment for the rental has been processed by us the Terms and Conditions of the rental supply company then take full effect and any cancellation will incur fees or penalties as set out in those Terms and Conditions. 

Any failure of a rental supply company to provide the vehicle they confirmed as being reserved is entirely the responsibility of that rental supply company.  Every endeavour will be made by the rental supply company to provide an equivalent or better vehicle as set out in their Terms and Conditions and AUSTRALIA TOURING accepts no responsibility for this or for any situation where a reserved vehicle is unavailable.
