Immigration and Visa Information for Australia

Travellers from most countries are required to have a tourist visa. This enables you to stay for 3 month in Australia. The visa is valid within 12 month after issue and can easily be obtained by your travel agent who's booking your flight. It doesn't cost anything unless you print it out by yourself on the internet.

There's also the possibility for most European citizens and a couple of more nationalities to obtain a "working holiday maker visa". It is easily available: You can apply online and within days you'll have your confirmation via email - as long as there are enough visa left (limited edition). You have to go with your working holiday visa to one of the immigration offices and apply for the work permit which will be valid for 12 month. You are permitted multiple entries within this period but the time counts - the working holiday visa is valid 12 month after your first entry in Australia.
