Around Australia Motorhome Rentals - Terms & Conditions

RENTAL CHARGES

When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick up is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick up time. The day of the vehicle’s return is counted as the final day of the rental. When a rental moves from one rate season to the next, the calculation is based on both rates.

RENTAL DURATION & KILOMETRES

Minimum rental for all vehicles is 7 days. One Way rentals are a minimum of 14 days.

Rentals are based on unlimited kilometres.

BRANCH HOURS FOR PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF:

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Cairns, Darwin and Perth.
Monday to Friday – 9.00am to 4.00pm
Weekends, Public Holidays by prior arrangement.

LICENCE MINIMUM/MAXIMUM AGE

A valid Driver's Licence from your Country of Origin or Residence, or an International Licence is acceptable. The minimum age is 25 years. The maximum age is 75 years. Arrangements can be made for drivers aged between 21 and 24 and drivers over 75 under special circumstances, subject to additional insurance charges.

CANCELLATION

Other than for exceptional circumstances and then entirely at the discretion of the manager, the following fees will apply for cancellations after confirmation of booking (payment of deposit):

A $75.00 cancellation administration fee will apply to all cancellations.

Within 30 days prior to pick-up: $500.00

Within 7 days prior to pick-up: 50% of rental cost

If cancelled on day of pick-up or a No Show: No refund available

If vehicle is returned early: No refund available

INSURANCE

Insurance is a mandatory charge that provides comprehensive cover. NB: Insurance rates for four wheel drive vehicles are higher than campervans and motorhomes.

Both CDW Protection Package and (MPP) Maximum Protection Package DO NOT COVER any type of water damage, ie: vehicle immersion or salt water damage.

Around Australia Motorhomes reserves the right to restrict vehicle movements and insurance level availability in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions.

BOND DEPOSIT

A deposit is required for all vehicles at time of pick up. On return of the vehicle, provided no accident or damage has occurred, the vehicle is completely clean with fuel and gas tanks full, then the deposit will be returned to the renter. Payments made via credit card.

MINIMUM HIRE/ONE WAY HIRE

Minimum rental is 7 days. Minimum one way rentals are 14 days. NB: One way rentals are subject to a one way fee.

CHANGE OF VEHICLE

We reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost in extreme circumstances. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to any refund whatsoever.

CLEANING FEE

From $80 to $120 if the vehicle is not returned in reasonable condition to the manager’s discretion. The vehicle must be returned with the toilet emptied, otherwise a cleaning fee of $100.00 will be charged.

REFUNDS

There are no refunds for vehicles returned earlier than the agreed term on the rental contract.

DESTINATION / ROAD RESTRICTIONS

Vehicles may be driven in all states; however, restrictions apply depending on road types and standards. All vehicles can only be driven on recognised roads, ie roads shown on maps.

Campervans and motorhomes ARE RESTRICTED TO BITUMEN ROADS ONLY.

Remote area travel by four wheel drive. Permission is to be granted by Around Australia Motorhomes, and a "Remote Area Agreement" is to be signed prior to travelling to remote areas. Please contact our office for further details.

All insurance and refundable money is waived if the above restrictions are breached. Any damage and/or recovery costs are the customer’s responsibility.

REPAIRS

All repairs / tyre replacements must be authorised by Around Australia Motorhomes prior to any repair work proceeding. Around Australia Motorhomes will reimburse you for expenses incurred in rectifying any authorised problems on presentation of the relevant receipts. NB: Defective parts or damaged tyres must be returned to our office for inspection. We will not accept responsibility for hotel or motel charges, meals or out of pocket expenses – in the case of breakdown, liability will be limited to the refund of hire charges for any days lost.

SERVICE

All vehicles are covered by a national emergency roadside breakdown service.

TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS

We reserve the right to charge the renter for any speeding or parking fines and/or accidents not reported on return of the vehicle. ($30 admin fee will apply per fine.)

PROTECTION PACKAGES AVAILABLE:

You have a choice of Basic or CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) or MPP (Maximum Protection Package).
 

BASIC and CDW Protection Package does not include overhead damage, underbody damage, windscreen or tyres.  MPP Protection Package: does cover overhead damage, underbody damage, a maximum of 1 windscreen replacement and a maximum of 2 tyre replacements.

Drivers 21 - 24 years of age:

The daily costs do not increase, however the "Liability" and required Security Bond both increase by $1000.  Eg - CDW will still cost $13/day, but the Liability will become $3000 and the Security Bond will become $3000.
MPP insurance is NOT available to drivers under 25 years old.

All Damage Cover is forfeited if:

• the terms and conditions of the rental contract are breached.  The hirer is then responsible for the total costs of any damage.

• the vehicle is submersed in or damaged by water or salt water

• driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and on restricted roads

• willful damage such as standing or sitting on the vehicle's roof or bonnet is strictly prohibited and is at the hirers cost.

• the hirer is responsible for any recovery costs that may occur if the vehicle becomes bogged or stranded caused by driver error regardless of the insurance excess / level of cover.

These payments cover one accident only - in the event of an accident the bond or additional insurance payment will be collected again for the balance of the rental days. The loss or theft of personal belongings or damage sustained to the vehicle's interior fittings or equipment are not covered (except in the case of collision damage)

Additional Cost

Government Stamp Duty: Included in the daily rental rate.

GST: Included in the daily rental rate.

One Way Fee applies to one way rentals
Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane & Cairns = $275
Adelaide = $365
Perth & Darwin = $600
ie. One Way Perth to Sydney would have a one way fee of $600

PRICES

All prices are quoted in Australian dollars.
